Acting

Describe the process you took to present your scene. What went well? Not so well? What would you do differently next time you had to do a scene?
Since our group went up first we were pretty nervous until we manage to practice 5 minutes earlier, we were kind of confident. Everyone did their role, but we made alot of mistakes dealing with remembering our lines and I was glad it wasn't noticed. What went well was the props and how we acted. What we could've done better is remembering our lines.

Paranoia

Are Macbeth’s paranoia due to his own weakness or a consequence of what he did?

I believe that Macbeth's paranoia is due to that fact that he is weak because ever since in the beginning, Lady macbeth was saying how weak Macbeth was and how he needs to man up because he didnt have the heart to kill the king but eventually he did because of Lady's macbeth supportive words. But, if you go on in the play, you could see how weak macbeth is because of his halucination, his guilty conscious is now getting to him.

What will Macbeth do about banquo?

Read the following scene at No Fear Shakespeare. Then, leave a COMMENT BELOW to this question:*Why do you think Macduff does not want to stay to celebrate Macbeth becoming king?*When you get done, go on to read Act 3, Scene 1 to page 3 at No Fear Shakespeare. Then, ON YOUR OWN BLOG, answer this question: *Make and explain your prediction: What will Macbeth do about Banquo? ***When you get done, make sure you have completed all of your blogs.

I believe that Macbeth will kill anyone who gets in his way because he wants to stay as King. By doing that I believe that he is going to kill Banquo because he thinks that Banquo may suspect Macbeth. Also, I think he might kill almost anyone to stay in power because if he gets caught, he is going to die an awful death and he doesnt want that to happen.

Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely

In a short essay (5 paragraphs) explain this quote:"Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely."Make sure you give examples of how this is true both in *Macbeth* and in real life.

Too much power can corrupt someone or people because when you have power, money or fortune, you have some sort of feeling that you could do whatever you want and no one can tell you if what your doing is right or wrong. This is true because in the story that were reading called Macbeth, it particularly shows how too much power can change a person's ways.
For example, since Macbeth was announced to be the thane of cowder, he thought that since he earned the kings trust, he has a close shot in killing the king in order to be king. This clearly shows how too much power can corrupt someone.
Another example, is how Macbeth was going to kill his trustful and loyal friend Banquo and his son. The reason why he wants to kill Banquo and his son because he didnt want anyone to get in his way and he thinks that with Banquo's son still being alive, the prophecy says that banquo's son may be the next king to the throne. This shows that even with power you can kill someone close to you.
Lastly, when Macbeth told a few men to kill Banquo and his son, instead of Macbeth to reward them for atleast killing Banquo, he put them in a dungeon. This shows that Macbeth used them in order to get what he wants and this also shows that he can use any one because he is the king and he has the power to do whatever he feel like.
To that being said, the quote "Absolute power Corrupts Absolutely" clearly means how too much power can corrupt someones character. An example of that is the story of Macbeth, the story showed how Macbeth went from being a warrior to a king. With all the power that Macbeth has, he can kill and use whoever in order to get what he wants and that shows how too much power can corrupt someone. Also, we can also reflect in the real life that too much power can corrupt someone. An example of that is how in the country Syria has too much terrorist and deaths that are happening right now. Too many innocent people in syria are dieing because of the bombing and shooting that are occuring. In this example we can see how people are dieing because of the power of the terrorist.

Directors

What are the factors that influence how a director presents a scene? Why do you think different directors see things so differently?

The factors that influence how a director presents a scene is by finding out what kind of sound effects are they going to use, props, and locations. These factors will show what type of scene the directors would like to present. The reason why different directors see things differently because they dont want to copy the same exact version as the original version. This could also be called plagerism. Also, they may think that the original version seemed dull and they want to switch it up and make it alittle bit better.

"Manly"

Discuss the question, what does it mean to be a “man”? Do you agree with Lady Macbeth’s view? Or do you think Macbeth’s consideration is more “manly”?

To be a man you have to be able to make decisions and live with the consequences. Accept responsibility for your actions and also be brave in what ever you find things difficult. According to the story of Macbeth, I dont agree with Lady Macbeths veiw of becoming a man, even though she is brave and has the courage and willingness to kill the king, that does not show how "manly" someone is. To be a man you also have to think of the outcome of what your trying to do, that shows how fearful you are. Which is why I think Macbeths consideration is more manly, he wa thinking if he killed the king what is going to happen next, are they going to kill him or not.

Ambition

Create your own argument: Whose ambition is driving this killing of Duncan, really? **It is clear that neither character is telling Duncan or Banquo how they really feel, but do they tell one another? **Be sure to pick lines that show you both direct and indirect evidence for your argument.

I believe that the person who's ambition is driving this killing of Duncan is Lady Macbeth because she wants Macbeth to take the thrown but also have it all to her self. I believe that Lady Macbeth and Macbeth are not only hiding secrets from Duncan or Banquo but their also hiding something from each other. They both want the thrown and they both have a desire to kill anyone who get's in their way just like in the play Lady macbeth said "Come, you spirits that tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here, And fill me, from the crown to the toe, top-full of direst cruelty!"Lady macbeth was saying something aboutcalling the spirits to unsex her and give her the courage to kill.

issue of trust

Duncan says, “There’s no art to find the mind’s construction in the face: / He was a gentleman on whom I built absolute trust.”

Discuss the issue of trust.  Is it ever possible to truly trust someone?  Be sure to cite evidence on both sides of the issue.

It depends, if you know that person like a family member or someone that your really close to, you can trust them. The reason why you can trust them is because you know each other for awhile. You have that relationship where you can tell each other everything about anything like secrets or you have each others backs, your their for them like a brother or sister. This now shows that you can earn each others trust. Another example could be when your trying to make new friends, you first of all have to talk with them and see if you have the same similar interest as them and then the relationship builds off from that and you now can say that you have someone you can trust. But, the other issue is what if he or she broke that trust by telling someone all your personal secrets, how would you feel if someone you spended all your life with just decided to break that trust? Upon this issue, It is not possible to truly trust someone.

To Act or Not To Act

Discuss inaction. Is one less guilty of a crime if they let it happen but did not take an active role in it? Compare inaction to action---Are there levels of guilt?

Yes, a person should feel guilty because you saw the person that was doing the crime. If you wittness a murder scene or robbery and you were scared to call the police, your deffinitly going to feel guilty because you could've prevented the murder or not have someones things getting stoling.Another example could be, if you were at court, and you witness a crime and the judge ask you if you had any part of it or if you know who did it. Some witnesses may or may not tell the truth because it could be a relative or someone you  know who commited the crime. The levels of guilt depends on the situation, if you were the one doing the crime or the one who saw the crime, just know your just as guilty as the next person.

Unseamed Him From Nave to Chops

Unseamed Him From Nave to Chops

Why do you think the author had Macbeth win, though he wrote Fortune seemed to favor Macdonwald? What sort of man fights like Macbeth did?

The author had to have Macbeth win because he is the main important character in the story. Also, as the author stated that "Fortune seemed to favor Macdonwald", fortune does not make you a brave, fierce, warrior like Macbeth. Which is why Macbeth is a man who doesnt need fortune to win battles and an example of that could be batman. Batman didnt need powers to fight off the villians, he uses his gadgets and his bear hands.

Witches

Now that you have seen several versions of the witches, which version do you think is the best?

The old witches, the nurse witches, the girl witches, or the male witches? Back up your argument with reasons and examples.

I think the first version clearly described how witches should be. They were hideous, monstrous and gross that is not much to look at. Also, at that scene it showed what witches do such as forming magic or rituals from human parts, blood and who knows what. While the girl witches were just plain wanna be witches, instead of wearing old raggedy clothes like a real witch, they were wearing school uniforms. That is deffinitly not the ideal of a witch. The last version was just disappointing, their were witches in a hospital. You hardly find witches in a hospital. Instead of them wearing witches clothes they were dressed as a nun and nurses.

  • Do predictions come true because they were destined to come true, or because people make them happen because it was predicted (like a self-fulfilling prophesy)?

Predictions come true when people make them happen, for example the weather forecast. The weather man predicts whether it will rain or not or when its too hot or too cold out because of the evidence that supports the predictions. Without the evidence or facts the prediction cant be made.
Another example could be the election that happen yesterday, the amount of electoral votes and the states that each candidate won, we can determine or predict who won the election. Predictions can only come true if we want them to come true, such as if you wanted to be basketball player or someone important in the future that is your prediction, dream or goal that your trying to reach, and the only way for that to come true is if you make that happen.
